The Center's Code of Conduct reflects its commitment to meet the fundamental principles and rules of ethical conduct in all organizational activities. It is focused on operational excellence with integrity - which stands at the core of the ICPFJ's values.

Implementing and upholding standards of the Code of Conduct are critical to earn the trust of those journalists we aim to assist and protect. It also serves as a shield for the affected journalist communities ICPFJ works with. The center aims to create a culture in which stakeholders feel confident enough to raise concerns; in the knowledge that they will be handled in a reliable, fair and consistent manner.

The Code of Conduct helps us increase the empowerment of journalists and accountability through the coaching and learning of best practices. Rather than restricting journalists, the Code expands options as it provides clarity over work and behavior.
