ABOUT ICPFJ

The International Center for Protection of Journalists (ICPFJ) is an independent, nonprofit organization that promotes worldwide press freedom. Its members defend the right of journalists to report the news without any fear of repercussions.

ICPJ aims to ensure the free flow of news and commentary by taking action wherever journalists are attacked, imprisoned, killed, kidnapped, threatened, censored or harassed.

Journalism plays a pivotal role in creating e balance of power between governments and their people. When a country's journalists are silenced, ICPJ believes its people are silenced. By providing cover for journalists, the center protects freedom of expression and democracy.
