(Two young journalists – Mr. Samim Faramarz and Mr. Ramiz Ahmadi)
ICPFJ Chairman Dr. Hatef Mokhtar has strongly condemned the assassination of two young journalists – Mr. Samim Faramarz and Mr. Ramiz Ahmadi – in Afghanistan. Both of them worked for TOLONews and were prolific journalists, committed to the future of their country.
He stressed that the murderers of the young journalists stood against freedom of expression, human rights values and democracy. The ICPFJ called on the Afghan government to pay more attention to the safety and protection of valuable journalists.
“The murder and killing of journalists is unacceptable. We share our deep concern over journalists’ safety and their protection. The deepest sympathies and condolences of thousands of ICPFJ members go out to the grief-stricken families,” he concluded.
